The Holiday Drink – A Recipe
WHere is a home-style interpretation of a cocktail from our latest cocktail list. Designed as a batch prepared mix that's packed full of essence associated with festive period, which makes it perfect for your festive gathering. Reserve the remaining cordial for breakfast cocktails, puddings, or for another batch of bikinis.
The Bikini Cocktail
Yields 10 servings
Ingredients for the Clementine Cordial (makes 750ml)
300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g caster sugar
For the Cocktail (yields 850ml, serving 10)
400ml decent vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach-flavored liqueur
200ml clementine syrup (see above)
Fresh cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, to finish
Directions
For the Cordial: Combine every items inside a pot, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, mixing to dissolve. Then, remove from the stove allowing it to cool fully. Pour into an sterilised bottle, close it and store in the fridge, it will last for up to one month.
To make Batch Mix: Pour every liquid ingredients in a big jug, allow it to infuse for one hour, then strain preferably using cheesecloth, to ensure it's perfectly clear.
For serving: Measure 85ml of the batch mix into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, gently stirring gently for a minute until cold. Filter into an chilled martini glass or a similar vessel, garnish with a few cranberries adding the final touch using a brief mist of the essential oil over the top.
